PHOTO-GRAPHIC EXPERIMENTS
Experimental photography and printmaking, video art, installation, 2022
Photo-Graphic Experiments is an artistic venture that transports viewers through the heart of Paris and beyond, offering a unique visual journey crafted by two exceptional female artists, Jana Lulovska and Ana Trajkovska. This collaborative project emerged during their residency at Cité internationale des arts Paris, where they embarked on a creative exploration of the city's timeless landmarks, its architectural wonders, and the intricate narratives concealed within its streets.
First presented at Cité internationale des arts Paris in 2022, and later exhibited at the French Institute Skopje in November 2024, Photo-Graphic Experiments is a tapestry of memories and experiences, expertly interweaving the past and present into an enchanting artistic narrative. This project is a captivating exploration of how a city's spirit and history can shape artistic expression, and how artistic collaboration can enrich our perception of place and time. The work stands as a testament to cultural exchange and artistic dialogue between France and North Macedonia.
This project embodies the fusion of photography, printmaking, and video installation. It creates a dynamic and immersive experience for its audience, inviting them to join in the rediscovery of Paris through the artists' collaborative lens. Through this installation, viewers are encouraged to reflect on the invisible layers beneath the city's surface, engaging with the nuances of artistic expression and journeying through the layers of time and emotion within the urban landscape.
The artists' residency at Cité internationale des arts Paris was funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia.
The exhibition at French Institute Skopje was funded by the French Institute.
