MAP OF EMOTIONS
Mural painting on a commission at SCS CENTAR-JADRO, 2024
Map of Emotions is a vibrant, abstract mural that captures the dynamic interplay of color and form, inviting viewers to explore the diverse spectrum of human emotions. Inspired by the acrylic painting Emotions (2024), this striking wall mural translates the minimalist, geometric composition into a large-scale public artwork.
Just as the original painting Emotions shows a carefully curated palette to represent different psychological states, the mural's bold colors and rhythmic arrangement of shapes evoke a range of feelings. The simplified, geometric and organic forms contrast with the complexity of the emotions they symbolise, creating a visual dialogue that encourages personal reflection.
By stripping down the elements to their most fundamental shapes and hues, Map of Emotions emphasizes the raw power of color and its profound effect on our psyche. The dynamic composition, with its sharp angles, flowing curves, and harmonious juxtapositions, mirrors the ebb and flow of human emotions. Viewers are invited to navigate this "map" of feelings, connecting with the universal language of color through their own subjective experiences.
Spanning the facade of the SCS CENTAR-JADRO building, this large-scale, site-specific mural transforms the space into an immersive, emotive environment. Map of Emotions offers a compelling visual representation of the interior world, using the bold, abstract language of art to give form to the intangible realm of human sentiment.
